Ryan Ratcliff joined the UCLA Anderson Forecast in 2005, after completing
his Ph.D. in economics at U.C. Berkeley. He is the principal contributor
to the quarterly California Forecast, and is a regular contributor to county
level forecasts in Southern California and the East Bay. His academic
research centers on integrating financial forecasts into macroeconomic forecasting.
Prior to joining the Forecast, he worked in market research and applications
development at the Franklin-Templeton family of mutual funds, as a market
analyst on the U.S. Treasury’s Mexico Task Force, and as a compliance researcher
at the Frankfurt headquarters of Deutsche Bank. He received a bachelor’s degree
in international relations and economics from Stanford University.
